Terms of Service

Effective date: November 1, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Settio app and related services. By creating an account or using Settio, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

About Settio

Settio helps people record shared expenses, balances, settlements, moments, photos, and receipts in groups. It records who owes whom based on information users enter; it does not move money, process payments between group members, or act as a bank, payment processor, financial adviser, legal adviser, or tax adviser. Check important amounts and payment details yourself before sending money.

Accounts and acceptable use

You are responsible for keeping your account and device secure and for the activity carried out through your account. You must provide accurate information where requested and use Settio lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, or harmful activity;
harass, threaten, impersonate, or otherwise harm other people;
try to access accounts, data, or systems without permission, interfere with the service, or bypass its limits or security controls; or
upload content you do not have the right to use, including content that violates another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights.

Your content

You keep ownership of content you submit to Settio, including moments, photos, receipts, expense details, and group information. You give Settio a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service for you and the members of the groups where you share it. You are responsible for your content and for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to share it.

Settio Plus subscription

Settio Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks Plus features, including permanent Moments, receipt scanning, and the cross-trip ledger. The plans, current prices, billing period, and any applicable trial terms are shown in the App Store or Google Play purchase flow when you purchase. Free Settio features remain available without a Plus subscription.

Trials and payment: Eligible new subscribers may receive a free trial when the store offers one. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase. If you purchase during a free trial, any unused portion of that trial is forfeited.
Renewal and cancellation: Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting your Settio account does not itself cancel a store subscription.
Refunds and restoring: Settio cannot issue refunds for purchases made through Apple or Google. Request a refund from Apple or Google under that store’s policies. If you previously purchased Plus, use Restore Purchases in the app to restore eligible purchases.
Group and personal benefits: Some Plus benefits are group-wide: for example, a Plus member can unlock the shared Moments allowance for groups they belong to, so other members of those groups can benefit. Other benefits stay personal to the subscriber, including the Plus access to receipt scanning and the cross-trip ledger. Benefits can change as the service develops.
Changes and ending access: We may change Plus features or prices. We will give notice where required and, for store subscriptions, changes are subject to the applicable store’s rules and confirmation process. We may suspend or end Plus access or an account for fraud, abuse, breach of these Terms, or where required by law.

Intellectual property

Settio and its software, design, and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable law. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Settio is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not promise that it will always be available, accurate, secure, uninterrupted, or error-free. In particular, we are not responsible for disputes, payments, losses, or incorrect information between group members.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Settio and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or financial loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Suspension, termination, and changes

You may stop using Settio and delete your account in the app’s Settings. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate abuse, enforce these Terms, or comply with law. We may update these Terms from time to time; for material changes, we will provide notice where required. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
